Anna Greta Eker for PLUS Norway silver split top ring

This superb ring was designed by Anna Greta Eker for the Plus Workshop Norway.

The shank of this silver ring sweeps up to a facetted geometric split top.

The shank is stamped "AGE" for Anna Greta Eker and has the Plus Workshop marks, and "Sterling 925S Norway".

Anna Greta Eker
Born in 1928 in Finland she trained as an industrial designer.
Eker moved to Norway in the 1950s where she married Erling Christofferson who led the silver workshop at PLUS in Fredrikstad, Norway.
PLUS was established in the late 1050s & was an artist colony of designers and craftsmen producing silver, baskets, furniture and pottery.
Eker became one of the leading silversmiths at PLUS, most of her jewellery was hand hammered and often mounted with natural, uncut polished stones.
When PLUS closed in the late 70s. Eker opened her own workshop marking her pieces “AGE”.
