A very unusual belt buckle.
Probably made in the late Art Deco period one half of the buckle consists of a gilt metal hollow tube with a gilt metal hook.
The other half of the buckle is a black & gilt metal arrow that hooks onto the tubular section.
The flight of the arrow is made of black bakelite with an applied gilt metal flight.
The undulating gilt metal shaft runs through and underneath the black bakelite to emerge below it ending in a gilt metal arrowhead.
I am not white sure how the bakelite & gilt metal arrow attached to the fabric of the belt - there is no evidence of any missing parts to this section.
It could be worn as a very dramatic & different pendant by running a chain or torque through the hollow tubular section so that the arrow hangs below.
