This very elegant and useful letter opener is by the Danish designer Georg Jensen. Made in silver with a stainless steel blade it was probably made in the 1960s -1970s.The finial is the acorn and it tops a ridged elongated handle that is stamped with the oval cartouche and the words "Georg Jensen" within a dotted surround. It is also stamped "Sterling". the stainless steel blade is stamped "Georg Jensen Denmark Stainless Steel" with a Catherine Wheel type logo.
