This lovely desk seal is in bronze and was made in France c1900 - 1910. The top of the seal is a gilded flower possibly a chrysanthemum with a gilded stem and leaves that wind round the hexagonal shaped flared stem of the seal. The base of the seal has the monogram "PDJ". The stem is signed "Huygens" - there is an initial before the "Huygens' signature that could be an "S". A very decorative and tactile item and the flower head of the seal fits beautifully into the hand.
