John Clappison for Hornsea "World's Best Darts Player" mug

This humorous mug was designed by John Clappison for the Yorkshire pottery Hornsea as part of the "World's Best" series in the 1960s -1979.
This one is the "World's Best Dartsplayer".

The background colour is pink and depicts a man with an overflowing beer mug in one hand having thrown a dart.
His dog watches with a gloomy expression!
The base is marked "Hornsea England" and has the Hornsea double bird mark.

I think that you either love or hate these mugs (I love them) but there has been a resurgent interest in the designs of John Clappison.
