Louis Patriarche silvered bronze medal Cie Transatlantique

This silvered bronze medal is sculpted by Louis Patriarche. The obverse depicts a mermaid raising for the sea holding a horn of plenty and is signed "L Patriarche". The reverse depicts a 4 funnelled liner at sea, presumably one belonging to the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique, as those words run around the top of the reverse, whilst "Assemblee Generale des Actionnaires" (Board of Shareholders) is at the bottom. The rim is indistinctly engraved "Bronze".

Exhibited at the:
Salon of French Artists from 1898;
Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1909; &
Salon d'Hiver in 1933 & 1946.
He won a Gold Medal at the Franco-British Exhibition in London (1908) was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1924
