Matti J Hyvarinen for Sirokoru silver abstract brooch

This wonderful silver brooch is by the Finnish jeweller Matti J Hyvarinen for his company Sirokoruand was made in 1971. the brooch is an irregular square shape, with an abstract raised and domed design running down the brooch slightly off-centre. It has brushed finish. the fastener is positioned just below the top of the back of the brooch. the brooch is signed on one end "MJH" for Matti J Hyvarinen with the logo for Sirokoru.It is hallmarked in Finland for the year 1971.

Sirokoru Ltd was founded in 1958 by Matti Hyvärinen when he was 21 having begun his career as a trainee at his father’s workshop in 1953
Matti Hyvärinen's works have been exhibited in numerous jewellery shows in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Basel, Munich, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Stockholm, etc.
