Mike Hunter/Twists Glass stoppered bottle

This really lovely stoppered bottle was made by Mike Hunter for Twists Glass in 2014. The bottle comprises 32 canes encased in clear glass. 12 are in green, 12 in blue and 8 in black arranged in a repetitive pattern around the bottle. The stopper is dark blue glass with a torchwork orchid & bud on a stem. It is scratch signed "M Hunter Twists 14" and has the Twists Glass Studio sticker.

There is a little story behind this piece. When we visit Mike & Sue Hunter at the Studio we like "poking around" to see what we can discover and to see what Mike has been working on. On our last trip, Sue discovered and fell in love with the stopper and so we commissioned Mike to make the bottle to go with it! And here it is!! All Mike's pieces are special but this one is just a little bit more special.
