This fantastic unusual pendant has a diamond shaped centre the front of which consists of a sheet of irregular shaped mixed opals set as a mosaic and then set onto a black onyx slab to form a doublet. The opals are a mixture of black opal, blue/green opal, blue opal & white/blue opal. The onyx is set onto a silver frame that has silver open work diamond shaped blocks set at each of the four corners. The blocks at the top and bottom corner match and the blocks on the left and right corners match. There is a solid silver rectangular bar that runs down the back of the pendant and extends above and below it and in the top of which is a round hole through which the silver torque runs freely. Each end of the torque has a bent spherical finial that intertwine to provide a secure fastening.
The back of the pendant is hallmarked by the London Assay office for silver & 1988 and bears the sponsor's marks "D.J.L" for Douglas John Lincoln.
The torque is an good size i.e. not small & tight!
