This Stuart Devlin surprise egg was made in 1976.
Inside the heavily textured gilded silver egg is a gilded silver bird's nest containing silver chicks beneath green enamelled and gilded silver foliage and an enamelled & silver robin with a worm in it's beak.
The egg is hallmarked by the London Assay office for silver & 1976 & bears Stuart Devlin's sponsor's mark "SD" in an oval cartouche.
It is also stamped 50 being its limited edition number.
It is presented in the usual black box with red velvet & silk lining that is printed in gold with "Designed & made by Stuart Devlin London".
