Viners Art Deco silver plated covered dish

This handsome silver plated covered dish is by the English company Viners. The base is boat shaped with rectangular neutral coloured composite handles. The lid fits seamlessly onto the base and is shaped like an upside down boat. The lid has a pair of flat triangular topped shaped handles.
The base is stamped "E P N S" (Electro Plated Nickel Silver) in copper plate initials, each initial in its own cartouche and is also stamped "V. LD" in a double shield topped cartouche (I believe this is the Viners pre 1925 mark) with "Sheffield L3"
This is a really lovely thing and whilst you could use it as a serving dish (its original purpose) it could equally well be used as a decorative object (for car keys or make-up or for jewellery) and would look wonderful anywhere in your house.
