The person behind the Le Jan signature is unknown although there has been speculation that it may have been either Yvonne Jean-Haffen or Elvire Kouyoumojian, the former was a painter, engraver and ceramicist and the latter was a Russian who exhibited at the Salon d-Automne. The famous craquelure fish sculpture and pair of fishes sculpture are both by Le Jan.
