Acrylic and metal matchbox holder

This quirky little object is an acrylic double matchbox holder. It is shaped like a book in black acrylic on the front of which is an inset gilt metal circular medallion with a view of the Palace of Versailles. The top and bottom of the "book" are open exposing the sides of the matchboxes so that the strike section can be used. There are two (empty) matchboxes in the "book" the front of each having pictures of men in regional costumes for Normandy & Brittany. A tab has been attached to one end of each match box so that they can be opened from the side of the "book" without removing the matchbox. Very cute!
