Macassar ebony & amboyna & chrome box in the shape of a top hat

We have had some wonderful boxes but we have never had one shaped as a top hat. I think that this one was made in the 1970s. The base is a flat chromed disc with the sides furled up and back to form the rim of the hat. The bottom third of the hat is fixed to the base and is in macassar ebony veneer. The top two-thirds section is flared and in amboyna veneer and lifts off to reveal the cylindrical cavity.
